Archeological finding Velika Peć

The Velika Peć Cave is located on the northern slope of Sridnja gora, southeast from the village of Grabovac. In the cave space, you can descend through a large steep hole of oval shape. Research has shown that Velika peć was inhabited from the Neolithic to the Middle Ages. The oldest findings so far discovered, originate from the older neolithic. Numerous fireplaces and traces of fire burning indicate the long-term settling of the cave, until the Middle ages. All layers are rich in archaeological finds, especially eneolithic (Cetina culture) and layers from the Bronze age.
